Tapo P110 India V1: load limits, energy records and control
Documentary evaluation · Admin · 18 Oct 2026. No hands-on product test or overall product score.
Choose the appliance task first
This assessment concerns Tapo P110(IN), hardware V1, using the India quick guide REV1.0.0. It does not transfer a US datasheet, a newer revision or P110M capabilities to this item. The India download page itself links both a US datasheet and an IN guide; match each document to the delivered label.
Decide whether the useful task is ordinary switching, an energy record or a carefully planned routine. A connected socket is only one part of the appliance and installation. No unit has been tested by IoTPapa for switching endurance, metering error, temperature rise or recovery.
Read the electrical limits by load class
The India guide specifies 220–230 V AC at 50/60 Hz, 16 A general/resistive use, a separate 1/6 HP motor limit and 0–40 °C operation. The 16 A headline is not a universal motor allowance. Appliance startup requirements and the actual installation need their own compatibility check.
The guide calls for indoor use, prohibits stacking and describes the integrated switch as functional control; the appliance must be unplugged before servicing. An app off state is not servicing isolation. Have a qualified electrician assess uncertain socket, appliance or load compatibility. Do not improvise an overload or high-current trial to validate a claim.
Treat energy data as a record, not a promise
TP-Link’s current general energy-monitoring FAQ describes usage histories and a tariff-based estimate. It also states firmware and app prerequisites for its upgraded features. This does not prove that every screen or protection feature is present on an uninspected India V1 unit.
For a useful evaluation, define the appliance, observation interval and question before collecting readings. Distinguish instantaneous watts from energy accumulated over time. Keep gaps and resets visible. A chart can support investigation; it does not by itself establish meter accuracy, a utility bill or savings caused by the plug.
Any claim of reduced consumption needs a comparable baseline and an explanation of changed use. Include the plug and any additional service costs in that decision. IoTPapa has not verified a current seller price, warranty fulfilment or payback period.
Check the routine’s present service path
TP-Link’s July 2026 announcement states that IFTTT services for Tapo and Kasa ended on 1 August 2026. An old article or app screenshot showing IFTTT should not be used as a current buying promise. Verify an available replacement for the actual trigger and action.
Keep the Tapo app path, a voice-assistant integration and any other controller distinct. Record accounts, access, app and firmware versions. This article does not establish Matter support for the selected India P110 V1, prove that a whole routine runs locally or promise operation through every outage.
Plan a modest, supervised observation
Only consider a manufacturer-permitted, noncritical appliance and a suitable installation. The following is a proposed record-keeping plan after compatibility has been resolved. It is not a performed IoTPapa test, an electrical safety certification or permission to test an overload.
Record the delivered India model, hardware label, firmware, app version, appliance and compatibility decision. Do not expose account credentials in a shared record.
Define one ordinary control task or one energy question, an observation period and the conditions that would count as inconclusive.
With a suitable noncritical appliance, observe the permitted ordinary controls and record command failures and delays. Keep the manufacturer’s manual control and safe disconnection available.
For energy observations, preserve time intervals, units, resets and missing readings. A competent metering comparison requires suitable calibrated equipment and an appropriate method; do not open or modify the plug.
Document the supported recovery procedure and complete local cost. Resolve failed or uncertain behaviour before considering unattended use or expanding a routine.
Decide from the complete evidence
This reference is useful when the documented load class and the intended control or observation task fit. Retain the exact model, source date and unresolved firmware questions in the decision. Compare alternatives on the same compatible task rather than on one current headline.
Metering accuracy, endurance, fault response and long-term reliability remain unassessed. A successful ordinary command would not settle those questions. This documentary assessment withholds an overall product score and any universal recommendation.
