TempTale GEO APX Global: in-transit monitoring
Investigate Sensitech’s in-transit APX Global monitor and SensiWatch route, distinguishing base/Extended variants, actual route coverage, handoff evidence and response ownership.

TempTale GEO APX Global is a Sensitech in-transit monitoring offering to investigate when the cold-chain evidence gap occurs during a journey. Treat the logger, connectivity and platform access as a proposed service route. It does not replace refrigeration equipment or the quality owner’s product-disposition process.
Define the journey that needs visibility
Transit is the scope
Sensitech presents the offering for food and industrial cold chains, with SensiWatch shipment views. Verify that the actual route, transport modes and handoffs are supported; a global offering name is not proof of coverage at every point.
Resolve the exact variant
The published table distinguishes the base and Extended versions. It lists up to 60 days for the base and up to 120 days for Extended. These are manufacturer limits, not demonstrated trip endurance for your reporting schedule and environment.
Separate visibility and authority
A condition record or exception notification starts a review. The shipper, carrier, receiver and quality owner still need named responsibilities, out-of-hours coverage and an agreed disposition process. Platform access does not assign those roles automatically.
Map the proposed journey evidence
1 · Specify the load and route
Use the same shipment/logistics-unit ID as the cold-chain pilot. State trip duration, transport legs, staging periods and handoff owners. Ask which exact monitor and service configuration covers those stages; confirm where another monitoring method is required.
2 · Match the monitor and checks
The manufacturer lists temperature, humidity and light sensing, location information and an optional probe. Identify the exact sensors/probe ordered, placement plan and calibration/reference evidence. A listed capability is not confirmation that the proposed configuration measures every required condition.
3 · Validate the reporting path
The specification names LTE Cat-1bis and Wi-Fi, while the overview describes Wi-Fi location support. Ask for the exact communication and location behaviour, route/carrier coverage, reporting intervals, offline retention and later upload. Do not assume Wi-Fi is a substitute data uplink without confirmation.
4 · Inspect the shipment record
SensiWatch is presented with a shipment timeline, map-based view, mobile access and reporting. Demonstrate what each role can see and export for the pilot’s exact shipment ID. Check time zones, event corrections, raw versus processed observations and gaps in the received record.
5 · Exercise notification and response
Agree which events should notify which named roles, then rehearse delivery, acknowledgement and escalation using a non-product test. Record latency and unresolved events. A manufacturer feature description does not verify notification delivery for the selected route and accounts.
6 · Close the journey and service
Reconcile the final record with dispatch and receiving evidence. Identify who retains exports, reviews an exception and controls any correction. Confirm device retrieval/takeback, replacement, access after expiry and the available evidence when a service or account ends.
Read the variant table in context
The base APX Global table lists a temperature range of −10 to +55 °C; Extended lists −30 to +55 °C. Ask whether that range describes the required sensor arrangement and actual placement. These device ranges are not acceptable temperature limits for a particular food or package. The responsible quality team supplies product rules.
Require a service-level explanation
Request the actual observation/reporting schedule, connectivity assumptions, support hours and escalation responsibilities. Record how a delayed upload is distinguished from an uninterrupted live view. No response-time commitment, location accuracy, coverage percentage or uptime has been independently established here.
Keep data exchange concrete
Ask for the actual export or integration method, accessible fields, units, time representation, permissions and retention. If a receiving system requires EPCIS or another event format, demonstrate the mapping. Neither the offering page nor this profile establishes an EPCIS implementation.
Price the whole route
Obtain a current regional proposal for monitors, activation, connectivity, platform/user access, support, optional probes, replacement and retrieval. Check how trip extensions and failed hardware are handled. An official global page does not establish India stock, a local contracting entity, price or service entitlement.
Use the cold-chain pilot measures
Compare observation coverage, visibility delay, acknowledgement timing, matched handoff records and investigation workload under equivalent route conditions. Retain gaps and unresolved events. No prevented spoilage, independently measured loss reduction or return on investment is reported.
Prepare the next discussion
Prepare a private requirements enquiry describing the route stage and monitoring gap. Current provider choices on that form are explicitly labelled by scope; an unlisted provider can be named in the non-confidential brief. Admin reviews the request and no provider is contacted automatically.
Sources and independence
Manufacturer documentation supports the offering description. The broader food page supplies portfolio context; it does not make every service an inclusion in a quoted package. IoTPapa is not claiming a partnership, reseller authorisation or an installed-system test.

Connect the storage stage
If the monitoring gap is in a stationary room or staging area, read the Testo Saveris 2-T1 research. It has a different sensor/network and ownership context. A journey using both stages still needs consistent identifiers, timestamps and a documented handoff.
